Our Sensory Seekers program is a playful, evidence-informed group therapy experience designed to support the mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing of neurodiverse children. Using a strengths-based and child-led approach, this program invites participants to discover their unique sensory preferences and regulate their emotions through hands-on, sensory-rich activities. Children will build confidence and connection as they engage in shared exploration, guided by curiosity and fun.
PROGRAM PURPOSE AND GOALS:
Sensory Regulation Through Play:
From creative science experiments and tactile art projects to obstacle courses, sensory cooking, mindfulness games, and interactive team challenges, children are encouraged to safely explore their environment, enhancing their body awareness and sensory confidence.
Emotional Regulation and Coping Skills:
Sensory play provides an opportunity to express emotions in non-verbal ways, offering comfort and regulation during moments of overwhelm. Children are guided to notice and name their feelings, and supported to develop coping strategies that align with their individual needs.
