Attention all budding photographers and visual storytellers! Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey of exploration, creativity, and self-expression? Our Frame-by-Frame program provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of photography, including basic camera functions, composition techniques, and lighting principles.
PROGRAM PURPOSE AND GOALS:
Creative Expression and Self-Identity:
Photography allows children to capture things that interest them, offering a non-verbal way to express their unique perspectives, preferences, and feelings. They will explore aspects of their identity, as they choose subjects that resonate with them, developing their sense of self. Photography provides a safe way for children to communicate feelings they might otherwise struggle to articulate and process emotions through imagery.
Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking:
Photography often involves working around obstacles, such as lighting or framing issues, which helps children practice flexibility and adaptability. Reviewing photos that didn’t turn out as expected can be a constructive way to discuss “mistakes” as learning opportunities, building resilience and a growth mindset.
