Legobots is a fun and interactive program providing children the opportunity to combine their love for Lego with coding. It facilitates the development of skills relating to problem-solving, communication, critical thinking, decision making, sharing, and listening.
PROGRAM PURPOSE AND GOALS:
Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking Skills:
Building a robot from LEGO pieces and programming it to perform tasks requires logical thinking and problem-solving skills, as children learn to identify and troubleshoot issues. It involves testing and adjusting, allowing children to experiment, make mistakes, and try again, fostering resilience and adaptability. Working with robotics reinforces a step-by-step approach to completing tasks, helping children learn to break complex problems into manageable parts.
Improved Emotional Regulation and Stress Relief:
The focused, hands-on nature of LEGO building can be calming and soothing, helping children regulate emotions and manage stress in a predictable activity. It requires concentration and attention to detail, helping children stay in the present moment and providing a mindful break from daily stressors.
Legobots combines the excitement of building and programming with the benefits of social interaction, emotional regulation, and cognitive development. Through structured, hands-on activities, children learn teamwork, resilience, and patience while building confidence in their skills. This program not only fosters social and emotional growth but also provides a strong foundation in STEM learning and practical problem-solving, helping children feel empowered, included, and capable.
