Our Mine & Master program provides a creative, collaborative and engaging environment for children to develop social, cognitive, and emotional skills. By playing and working collaboratively on creative building or survival gameplay, children develop self-expression, digital literacy, and academic skills, helping them grow in a safe, familiar, and enjoyable virtual space.
PROGRAM PURPOSE AND GOALS:
Development of Cognitive and Academic Skills:
Children encounter and resolve complex situations in Minecraft, developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Building projects strengthen planning, organisation, and resource-management skills, and develop creativity and improve understanding of concepts like symmetry, geometry and measurement, which reinforces math skills and logical thinking.
Enhanced Emotional Resilience and Coping Mechanisms:
Minecraft offers a safe space to experience setbacks, such as losing in-game resources or needing to rebuild, helping children develop resilience. The game provides a low-stakes environment where children can experience and work through frustration, learning patience and persistence. Children learn to handle in-game challenges constructively, building skills that can transfer to real-life situations.
