Pet Care School Leavers Employment Support (SLES) Program at Diverse Pathways our clients will develop essential pet care skills, including grooming, feeding, handling, and behaviour understanding for dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small animals. Neurodiverse teenagers leaving school will gain hands-on experience in bathing, brushing, nail trimming, and leash walking, along with communication, scheduling, and daily care routines.
The Pet Care SLES program fosters responsibility, empathy, and professionalism, preparing participants for roles in pet stores, veterinary clinics, grooming facilities, and boarding kennels. With sensory-friendly training and supportive instructors, students learn at their own pace, building confidence and industry knowledge. Graduates from Diverse Pathways SLES program in Pet Care leave equipped to pursue meaningful careers in the growing pet care industry.
