Our Pokémon Trainers group program will provide a safe learning environment to practice healthy interaction and competition, communication, patience, turn-taking and resilience, whilst learning to play and use the Pokémon cards. The basis of the game is to acquire all prize cards presented next to the playing deck area by using the attacks/moves detailed on each specific card to defeat the opponents Pokémon.

PROGRAM PURPOSE AND GOALS:

Development of Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills:

Pokémon card games involve careful planning and predicting opponents' moves, which helps children build critical thinking and strategic decision-making skills. As the game unfolds, children must adapt to changes, teaching them to be flexible and adjust their strategies.

Encouragement of Math and Literacy Skills:

Pokémon card games require players to add and subtract health points and calculate damage, providing a fun, practical way to practice math. Reading card instructions and understanding effects encourages literacy, attention to detail, and comprehension skills. Deciphering card abilities and understanding game mechanics helps children practice critical thinking and logical reasoning.
